Position Purpose of Line Lead: The Production Room Line Lead will be responsible for ensuring that orders for custom made food boxes/bags are accurately and efficiently built. This individual will work directly with a team of employees provided through a staffing agency partner. All responsibilities and duties will further Gleaners’ mission to be a leader in the fight against hunger.

Essential Functions of Line Lead:
- Assist FCC Production Supervisor with guiding and leading a team of employees from our staffing agency partner to complete the assembly of custom food boxes/bags.
- Lead by example and jump into the production lines as needed. This is a hands-on position.
- Correspond with staffing agency directly when personnel issues arise with the team.
- Motivate staff to be an effective part of the Gleaners team by working together to achieve the organization’s stated goals on quotas, efficiency, accuracy, quality, etc.
- Utilize inventory software to create daily build picks, locate product, and forecast building schedule.
- Perform various additional warehouse functions including product receipt, put-away, replenishment, order-fulfillment, box production, and cycle count.
- Communicate pertinent information verbally and/or electronically within Fresh Connect team as well as additional departments within the warehouse when applicable.
- Work safely and accurately with minimal supervision.
- Change tasks and assignments as the needs of our Distribution Center require.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to all food safety guidelines according to GFB, Feeding America, AIB, USDA, ISDH and any other applicable processes or regulations for safe and sanitary production and storage of all products.
- Operate a PIT equipment according to Gleaners and OSHA guidelines.
- Operate packaging equipment
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience of Line Lead:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Bilingual desired (Spanish/English)
- Previous experience and/or training in supervision or team lead level desired
- Knowledge and experience performing food production or warehouse functions.

- Excellent interpersonal, oral, written communication skills
- Ability to read, write and to understand instructions
- Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with all staff members, agencies, volunteers, and donors
- Ability to perform basic math functions, (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Ability to count accurately and maintain accurate records
- Understands warehouse inventory

- Ability to execute instructions with exacting (100% compliance) attention to detail
- Forklift certification (or ability to be certified) preferred
Work Environment & Physical Demands of Line Lead
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and/or and move 50 lbs. regularly and to push/pull 2,000lbs. of product using manual pallet jack.
- Ability to speak clearly.
- Ability to operate machine, mechanical, and electrical equipment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- This position is predominantly warehouse/ production based with primary activity in refrigerated or freezer environments.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Exposure to fumes/odors and dirt/dust.
- Some exposure to outdoors (i.e. all-weather conditions) and office
- Moving vehicles and equipment; Machinery/equipment in use.
- Works well with others and independently.
- Verbal face-to-face contact with others
- Requires movement of product in-and-out of trailers and straight trucks.
- Flexible work schedule, including ability to work weekends and evening hours as needed.
