PM Laundry Attendant – Job Description
Department: Housekeeping / Laundry
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Laundry Supervisor
Status: Full-Time or Part-Time
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Required)
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The PM Laundry Attendant is responsible for the overall cleanliness, organization, and processing of hotel linens during the evening shift. This role ensures that all linens, towels, uniforms, and housekeeping items are cleaned, folded, stored, and distributed according to Westin Poinsett and Marriott brand standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to work the required schedule of 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM with reliable transportation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Laundry Operations
Sort, load, wash, dry, and fold linens, towels, and hotel laundry items.
Operate commercial washers, dryers, and additional equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure proper chemical levels and settings are used according to linen type and soil level.
Inspect all laundered items for cleanliness, stains, tears, or defects; rewash or remove damaged items as needed.
Maintain adequate par levels by monitoring inventory throughout the shift.
Distribution & Organization
Prepare and distribute clean linens to proper storage rooms and floors as assigned.
Organize and maintain the linen room and work areas to ensure cleanliness and accessibility.
Assist Housekeeping team members with linen restocking or special requests when needed.
Cleaning & Safety
Keep all laundry equipment clean and in proper working condition.
Follow all safety procedures, including chemical handling, equipment operation, and lifting techniques.
Immediately report mechanical issues, shortages, or safety concerns to a supervisor.
Teamwork & Communication
Communicate effectively with Housekeeping leadership and team members regarding linen levels, shortages, or urgent needs.
Support the team during high occupancy periods to ensure all linens are processed on time.
Qualifications
Must be able to work the PM shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (no exceptions).
Reliable transportation is required.
Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Physical Requirements
Frequent lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift.
Ability to work in a warm, fast-paced laundry environment.
Work Environment
This role involves working independently and at times under time-sensitive conditions. The PM Laundry Attendant is essential in ensuring the Housekeeping team has the clean linen needed to maintain exceptional guest service standards.
