Join a leading healthcare facility in Annapolis, MD, as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in Neurology. We are seeking a dedicated professional with a passion for patient care and a commitment to excellence in respiratory therapy. This contract position offers the opportunity to work night shifts, providing critical services and support to patients in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medical gas therapy in accordance with all department procedures.
- Evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapies for continuation or discontinuation according to department standards.
- Prepare and collaborate with advanced practitioners and clinical specialists to implement the respiratory care plan.
- Review charts per department policy, including orders, lab values, and chest x-rays, and document care provided accurately and consistently.
- Operate and maintain equipment in a safe and sanitary condition, following department guidelines.
- Observe patients during therapies for adverse reactions and act in accordance with department policy when problems arise.
- Monitor patient response to therapy.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- Associates Degree from an accredited college.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- State of Maryland License of eligibility as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.
Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:
- Exposure to blood-borne pathogens is a reasonable expectation in this position.
