Join a leading acute-care hospital as an MRI Technologist in York, ME. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing essential imaging services to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications & Personal Qualities

• Education and Experience: Associate degree or Certificate from a two-year college, university, or certificate-based program.
  
• Required Licensure/Certification: ARRT registered or other qualified licensing from an MRI program.
  
• BLS certification obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Working knowledge of medical imaging exams.
  
• Understanding of electronic medical records.
  
• Multitasking and teamwork-driven.
  
• Accountable and professional with effective communication skills.
  
• Ability to work with limited supervision and learn additional tasks as needed.
  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of patients, including geriatric, pediatric, and general populations.
  
• Perform MRI procedures, including screening patients for contraindications and following safety requirements per ACR and facility protocols.
  
• Explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures to patients, addressing their concerns with tact and courtesy.
  
• Educate patients on procedures and answer any questions they may have.
  
• Ensure patient and staff safety, including explaining safety protocols and monitoring patients at all times.
  
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment, promoting good safety habits for patients and coworkers.
  
• Monitor equipment status and assist in inventory management.
  
• Perform tasks in other departments, including CT and X-ray, as needed.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and some repetitive motions.
  
• Exposure to radiation in the work environment.
