Summary of Position:
This position supports essential financial functions for GLC Minerals and its affiliated entities. The Accountant is responsible for regulatory compliance, accurate accounting, reliable reporting, and strong internal controls across financial and operational processes. This position reports to the Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following: Duties may be modified, or additional duties assigned.
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts at month end and in connection with the company’s annual audit ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Pull data from the company’s ERP and related systems for the purpose of report creation and analysis
- Complete and file compliance reports on a timely and accurate basis including real estate tax returns, sales and use tax returns, and periodic economic surveys and census requests
- Maintain the company’s contract tracker with attention on renewal dates, cancellation notice periods, and payment amount changes
- Set up and maintain vendor records, including validation of vendor information
- Assist in ensuring an accurate general ledger by reviewing transaction details for incorrect amounts or accounts
- Create, maintain, and distribute financial reports according to established publication cycles and on an ad hoc basis, as needed
- Assist with processing accounts payable and/or accounts receivable transactions, as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with 2-5 years accounting experience. Strong internship experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated professional with strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, able to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred but not required
Physical Requirements & Work Environment: Office and plant environment, uneven surfaces.
