HR Generalist
Glazzio Tile is currently seeking an HR Generalist to support company-wide human resources operations, with the primary work location based at our Burlington, NJ facility.
As a Human Resources Generalist at Glazzio Tiles, you will play a critical role in supporting HR operations and partnering with leadership and employees across the organization. This role is responsible for managing core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, benefits administration, workers’ compensation and unemployment claims, employee relations, performance management, policy administration, and compliance. The HR Generalist maintains accurate and confidential personnel records, prepares HR reports, ensures compliance with employment laws and internal policies, and provides professional, responsive support to all employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Selection: Support the full recruiting lifecycle including job postings, advertising, resume screening, reference checks, pre-employment testing, applicant communications, interviews, and application review. Apply recruiting best practices for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary roles to support staffing, succession planning, and turnover reduction.
- Onboarding & Training: Conduct onboarding and orientation, explain company policies, procedures, compensation, and benefits to employees and applicants, and assist with employee training and development initiatives.
- Time & Attendance: Maintain time and attendance system data integrity, weekly timecards, and related reporting.
- Payroll Processing: Collaborate with managers to ensure accurate payroll data entry, timely processing, and resolution of payroll inquiries or discrepancies.
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, COBRA, and enrollments; serve as a resource for employee benefit questions.
- Workers’ Compensation & Unemployment: Administer Workers’ Compensation and unemployment programs including reporting, claims processing, coordination with managers and third-party providers, and representation in hearings or appeals.
- Employee Relations & Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted HR partner to leadership by advising on employee relations and performance matters with fairness, consistency, and sound judgment, while supporting company policies, compliance obligations, and business objectives.
- HR Compliance & Policy Administration: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and administer corporate HR policies, including EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, HIPAA, Workers’ Compensation, and Unemployment.
- HR Records & Data Management: Maintain accurate, confidential HR records and employee files; examine files to respond to inquiries and support personnel actions.
- Reporting & Documentation: Compile, prepare, and maintain reports and documentation related to HR and personnel activities.
- HR Systems & Tools: Utilize Microsoft Office (including Excel) and HR-related systems to support HR operations.
- Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience supporting the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively support and communicate with both warehouse/operations (hourly) and office-based (salaried) employee populations.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive, confidential, and employee-related matters.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Experience
- Human Resources: 5 years (Preferred)
