We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and professional Patient Services Representative (PSR) to join our growing team.
Responsibilities:
This is a full-time, in-person role responsible for delivering excellent service and maintaining front desk operations to ensure efficient office flow, including:
- Serving as the first point of contact for all patients. A warm, welcoming demeanor is essential for success in this role.
- Checking patients in and out accurately and efficiently.
- Scheduling and confirming appointments with attention to clinic flow.
- Verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations.
- Collecting co-pays and patient balances, posting payments, and handling cash responsibly.
- Managing a multi-line phone system and responding to patient inquiries professionally.
- Coordinating communication between patients and clinical teams.
- Processing medical records requests and triaging calls or requests as needed.
- Maintaining composure and professionalism in high-pressure or conflict situations—must remain calm and approachable.
- Cross-train as a medical assistant to support the team on heavy doctor days.
Requirements:
- 1 years of experience in a healthcare front desk or patient-facing role preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Quick Learner, adaptable to change.
- Responsible self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and respectful demeanor - should not show stress or frustration in front of patients, or be unprofessional.
- Comfortable with office equipment, including computers, and phone systems.
- Experience verifying insurance and handling billing tasks is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus.
- Multi-lingual is a plus
Locations and Hours
- Mon-Fri, 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM (30 minute lunch)
- Commute to all three office locations:
171 Elden St, Suite 100, Herndon, VA 20170
6101 Redwood Square Centre, Suite 214, Centreville, VA 20121
142 Linden Drive, Suite 107, Winchester, VA 22601 ( 2-3 times a month, travel reimbursement provided)
- Openers will arrive 10-15 minutes earlier to open the clinic and prepare for the day, and they will be the first to leave. Roles will be rotated.
