What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Technician position at Glaucoma Consultants of Texas?
Growing ophthalmology/glaucoma specialty clinic, with locations near the Grapevine hospital district and downtown Fort Worth, has 3 full time vacancies for the following positions:
Pay based off experience.

1. Ophthalmic Scribe
Candidate must have extensive experience in the ophthalmology field and be highly knowledgeable in all areas of ophthalmology, especially glaucoma. Scribe candidates should have strong typing skills, good spelling/ grammar skills, and the ability to accurately summarize and document the exam.
COA preferred, but not required. COA certification through JCAHPO is encouraged and provided by the practice. Continuing education benefits are available for certified candidates.
2. Ophthalmic Work Up Technician
Candidate must have previous experience in the ophthalmology field. Candidate should have the ability to perform tonometry by Goldmann, visual acuity, pupil assessment, EOMs, confrontational fields, and document thorough chief complaint and medication review. The ideal technician will have strong work up skills. This position will be filled by an experienced work up technician with the potential to scribe. Computer knowledge and strong typing skills required.

3. Ophthalmic/Optometric Testing Technician
Previous experience as an ophthalmic or optometric testing technician preferred but not required. Job functions include performing diagnostic testing; OCT, Visual Field, Fundus Photo, and Diopsys. There is potential for the ideal candidate to achieve career advancement through training for work up technician level.
