About the Position
Glatfelter Insurance Group is seeking a Regional Vice President for our Distribution department who will be responsible for the development and administration of multiple sales regions including associate management, development, sales, retention, agent development, profit and loss, and market analysis for all product lines.
This position is required to be onsite at our York, PA Leader Heights office and will require travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and motivate sales force to achieve profitable growth while maintaining underwriting and corporate standards to assure successful results.
- Manage and motivate agency distribution system to meet growth, profitability, and new business goals.
- Develops, implements and monitors state/regional sales and marketing plans including target new business goals, market penetration, sales strategy, competition, and SWOT analysis.
- Develops and manages Region’s budget.
- Serves as liaison for Region with Senior Management and GIG department heads.
- Coordinates and communicates pricing changes among all affected parties within Region.
- Evaluates the performance of all direct reports and approves and monitors PTO and continuing education.
- Identifies, hires, develops and mentors sales staff.
- Plans and assists with VFIS product knowledge seminars as needed.
- Attends VFIS staff meetings as a Regional representative.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned by the President, VFIS.
What We’re Looking For
- Successful achievement of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business or Marketing or equivalent industry experience.
- Must have or attain within 6 months valid Property & Casualty and Life & Health licenses in Pennsylvania and/or other assigned states.
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience in a multi-line insurance agency, brokerage, large retail agency or insurance carrier.
- Detailed knowledge of commercial insurance.
- Working knowledge of benefits programs.
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of Business and Sales plans.
- Experience in budget development and management.
- Proven ability to effectively hire, train, compensate, motivate, and monitor sales associates.
- Working knowledge of underwriting procedures as relates to pricing, risk selection and administration.
- Ability to establish, develop, and achieve organizational goals through the process of effective sales and time management.
- Strong management and mentoring skills to motivate, encourage and develop effective sales associates.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship development skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and persuade various personality types, both internally and externally.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate with small to very large groups and utilize multiple forms of media (lecture, slides, teleconferencing).
- Ability to identify trends in target market and develop alternative strategies to ensure achievement of short and long term goals of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills are required to effectively prioritize work and consistently meet objectives.
- Significant travel including overnight and weekends (a minimum of 60% of time)
