Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician who is passionate about patient care, client education, and continual learning.
This position is ideal for someone who values high-quality medicine, strong communication, and collaboration. You’ll play a hands-on role in supporting our doctors during exams, treatments, surgeries, and client consultations ensuring every visit reflects the GVH standard of excellence.
Candidates must bring prior experience in veterinary medicine and a willingness to embrace emerging technologies, including AI-based tools, to enhance workflow, communication, and patient outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgical procedures, and diagnostic imaging.
- Provide compassionate, attentive care to patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Accurately collect and process laboratory samples, perform in-house diagnostics, and prepare tests for reference labs.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments under veterinary supervision.
- Communicate clearly with clients about procedures, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain accurate, thorough medical records in Cornerstone and digital platforms.
- Support hospital operations from stocking and cleaning to maintaining equipment and patient safety standards.
- Uphold GVH’s commitment to a calm, clean, and kind work environment.
- Collaborate with leadership to learn and apply AI-assisted tools and systems that improve patient care, record accuracy, and workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a veterinary technician role (required).
- Proficiency in animal handling, restraint, venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, and lab procedures.
- Experience using Cornerstone or similar veterinary practice software.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.
- Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new technologies, including AI-driven tools for client communication, scheduling, and data organization.
- CVT or LVT license preferred but not required; experience and professionalism are highly valued.
