Business Overview  

Founded in 2021, Glassy Mountain Advisors is a growing wealth management firm specializing in investment management and financial planning services for individuals and families. With approximately $370 million in assets under management*, we are on a mission to significantly increase our client base, assets, and team in the years to come. This position is fully remote in Charlotte, NC, an area of our client concentration. Most of our team works together in our Bethesda, MD office two days a week for meetings, team lunches, and regular community service. Candidates should be willing to travel to Bethesda regularly (on average once per month, but occasionally more) to spend time with the team and collaborate in person. We are looking for talented, motivated individuals to join our growing team and contribute to the expansion of our firm. 

 

 

Position Summary: 

The Senior Wealth Advisor will serve as a trusted partner guiding clients through life’s financial decisions, helping them achieve peace of mind and fulfillment while strengthening long-term relationships.  

 

Duties: 

Manage client relationships by: 

  • Assessing clients’ financial needs 
  • Determining investment objectives, risk tolerance, and target asset allocation 
  • Managing clients’ investment portfolios in coordination with portfolio management team 
  • Providing comprehensive financial planning services in coordination with other team members, which may include collaboration with clients’ other financial professionals, such as CPAs or estate planning attorneys 
  • Communicating regularly with clients through in-person and virtual meetings, phone calls, and email 
  • Conducting regular client review meetings and ensuring that we are helping our clients progress toward their financial goals 

Other duties:

  • Contribute to our ambitious growth plan by sourcing new client relationships, building community presence, and deepening existing relationships and expanding into new markets 
  • Lead the firm’s financial planning business and deliver financial planning with a whole-family lens, ensuring engagement with clients across generations, and embracing technology to enhance the client experience 
  • Serve as expert on financial planning topics, industry trends, and software (MoneyGuide) 
  • Participate in leadership level conversations and decisions, as a core member of our leadership team 
  • Manage and mentor Relationship Managers and help them advance in their careers 
  • Contribute to monthly blog posts related to personal finance and financial planning 
  • Help prepare and deliver client or prospect seminars 
  • Engage in cross-functional projects, offering the opportunity to innovate and directly influence firm growth and client experience 

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or more 
  • CFP Designation required  
  • Series 65 or 66 license  
  • Minimum 10 years of industry experience  
  • Demonstrated expertise and a consistent record of success in revenue growth through asset consolidations and new client development 
  • Strong proficiency with financial software platforms such as Fidelity and Schwab Institutional, Wealthbox, Black Diamond, MoneyGuide, and similar tools 
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and contribute to overall company growth 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant business tools 
  • Established network of client relationships, with the potential to bring a book of business to the firm (preferred, not required)
