Role SummaryGlassPoint is seeking an independent Business Development Associate to support the Chief Commercial Officer, Americas in identifying, qualifying, and developing early-stage commercial opportunities for GlassPoint’s concentrated solar thermal (CST) solutions.This mid-level role emphasizes in-depth research, data collection, analytical work and limited customer outreach to build a robust pipeline of high-value opportunities. Ideal for technically proficient professionals with energy sector experience seeking to contribute to large-scale solar thermal projects that deliver measurable emissions reductions and cost savings for global industrial leaders. Key Responsibilities• Identify and prioritize prospective customers in target sectors (e.g., mining, building materials, chemicals, oil and gas, food & beverage) through comprehensive market research and data collection. The focus will be on the US and South America.• Perform detailed analyses of prospect suitability and viability, including energy consumption profiles, steam demand forecasting, site-specific solar resource assessments, emissions baselines, and financial modeling of GlassPoint's steam-as-a-service value proposition.• Gather and synthesize diverse data sources (industry reports, regulatory filings, satellite imagery, production metrics) to evaluate operational compatibility and decarbonization potential.• Research organizational structures to identify and map key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders at target prospects.• Conduct introductory outreach via tailored emails, calls, and LinkedIn to qualified prospects, positioning GlassPoint's solutions and securing initial engagements. Qualifications• Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Environmental Sciences, with focus in energy systems, renewable energy, or related fields.• Approximately 4-7 years of professional experience in the energy sector (renewables, or industrial process heat), doing business development or market analysis.Preferred Skills• Proven expertise in research, data collection, and quantitative analysis (e.g., financial modeling, energy audits, or market sizing).• Familiarity with industrial energy markets, decarbonization drivers, and technologies like solar thermal or concentrated solar power.• Strong proficiency in tools such as Excel for modeling, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and data sources (e.g., Bloomberg, Wood Mackenzie, or industry databases).• Excellent written and verbal communication for crafting compelling outreach and presenting analytical findings.• Self-motivated with the ability to manage complex, research-intensive workflows independently.
