What You Will Do
- Serve as the primary lawyer responsible for all US commercial matters. Work directly with the business, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals and compliance issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to complex SaaS, vendor & partnership agreements.
- Work cross functionally across the company to analyze legal risks and work closely with a global team across multiple time zones.
- Resolve commercial disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
- A Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the bar of at least one US state.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience as a commercial lawyer, with in-house legal experience required; additional law firm experience is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of contract law, commercial law & corporate law.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner in fully remote work environments.
- Proven negotiation skills with a track record of successfully closing commercial deals.
- Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment handling multiple priorities effectively. Prior startup technology company experience strongly preferred.
- Highly independent and proactive, with the ability to identify issues and drive matters forward with limited oversight.
- Comfortable using Slack, Salesforce, Zoom and other digital collaboration tools as primary communication channels.
