Glassboro Public Schools is seeking a High School Math Teacher
Note: Candidate must be willing to obtain a Teacher of Students with Disabilities Certificate. Tuition Reimbursement Available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MUST HOLD A K-12 MATH Cert and/or TOH Cert.
- NOTE: Those who hold a Teacher of Students with Disability Certification are welcome to apply, provided they also hold a secondary certification as required by the state.
REPORTS TO: Principal and Director of Special Services
JOB GOAL/MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for providing specialized academic services directly to students, as well as collaborating with their parents and the IEP team regarding the implementation of the Individual Education Plan. The employee will deliver effective academic instruction in accordance with the school-approved academic curriculum, state standards, and individual student IEPs.
- Provides direct instruction to students with disabilities.
- Develops lesson plans/instructional materials and provides individualized and group instruction in order to meet the needs of each pupil as stated on the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Assess the progress of students on a regular basis, utilizing tests, curriculum measurements, observation skills, and/or modified-adapted assessment devices. Provides progress reports as required.
- Conducts education assessments.
- Communicates with parents through conferences, IEP Team meetings, and other means to discuss pupils’ progress and the Individualized Education Program.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records, case files, etc., as required by program regulations, Board policies, and federal, state, and local laws.
- Attends and actively participates in staff/faculty meetings and system staff development priorities.
- Provides input on planning instructional goals, objectives, and instructional methods for students with disabilities.
- Communicates with students when academic and behavioral problems arise, and exchanges information regarding appropriate behavior in the learning environment.
- Promotes a positive, welcoming atmosphere that encourages collaboration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a ten (10) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
