What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Project Manager - Glazing position at Glass Systems, Inc?
We are a large-scale glazing subcontractor for commercial construction that is looking to hire capable project managers to perform the following work.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Your top priority is to drive accuracy towards the successful completion of a construction project.
i. Listed below are some of our Project Manager responsibilities.
- Tracks team priorities and ensures their alignment with larger goals through all project processes.
- Update and modify project schedules on the project team's behalf.
- Sets up meetings for key leaders/clients.
- Understands established work/staffing plans for each phase of the project and assist in coordinating with sub-contractors.
- Coordinates and/or performs the collection and distribution of project specific submittals.
- Shop drawing review.
- Rent and manage equipment procurement.
- Initiate purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate records during all phases of the project including contract review, kickoff, design-assist, engineering, buyouts, major material purchases, sub-contractors' meetings, and financial reviews.
- Maintain all records including time keeping and field project files.
- Effectively manage and prioritize a high volume of meetings, communications, commitments, and project duties.
- Work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
- Drives company/government compliance.
- Seeking and issuing appropriate legal paperwork such as contracts and terms of the agreement.
- Ability to monitor and check work or information and organizes time and resources efficiently.
- Can prepare and understand weekly and monthly financial reports in alignment with GSI's best practices.
- Contributes to field means and methods and other reports to communicate up to date project financial results.
- Report on weekly job progress, reporting accurate quantities installed and labor hours performed timely for job costing purposes.
- Collects all the relevant information and data to provide opportunities for critical analysis.
- Participate in project safety and implementation of a Zero Incident initiative.
- Takes action to evaluate and minimize risks to the company’s employees and assets.
- Maintain and build relationships to eliminate obstacles.
- Ensuring that all standards and requirements are met by conducting quality assurance tests, mockups, and equipment reviews.
- Overseeing and monitoring construction project progress, day to day, and tackling/escalating any issues that may arise.
- Acts with a sense of urgency.
- Embraces a shared understanding of team participation roles, responsibilities, and decision making.
