engineering and construction drawings for underground fiber optic and utility infrastructure projects,
and to ensure all plans, deliverables, and redlines meet strict company, client, and municipal quality
standards.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting & Design
- Create, modify, and finalize detailed construction drawings (e.g., plan and profile, conduit, cable,
using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, primarily AutoCAD.
- Translate field notes, redlines, sketches, and engineering specifications into accurate and
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information System) data and base maps to integrate utility mapping,
- Prepare and format drawings for permitting applications to various municipalities, utility
Quality Control (QC) & Compliance
- Perform comprehensive quality control reviews of all internal and external design documents to
- Verify that all dimensions, materials, and construction methods specified in the drawings are
- Manage and maintain an organized library of project drawings, standards, templates, and
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Supervisors to resolve design
redlines quickly and accurately.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, Civil
- Experience: [2-5] years of professional drafting experience, with a significant focus on
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D modeling a plus).
- Industry Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of underground construction practices,
with OSP terminology is essential.
- QC Skills: Demonstrated attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking and verifying
