Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following

  • Responsible for implementing crop plans, as amended from time to time. As part of the Management Team, provide input regarding the development of the annual crop plans.
  • Provide yield, crop and other pertinent information to VP of Cultivation during budget development process.
  • Identify and optimize growing practices to achieve highest product quality standard.
  • Development/testing of improved methods and equipment to resolve issues.
  • Develop and implement growing strategies and tactics plans in alignment with company vision and strategic direction.
  • Assist from growing perspective in the design and development of new software programs that may be needed. Oversee software updates and communicate any possible issues related to the growing department.
  • Improve cost and maximize delivery.
  • Collaborate with the operations and site management to achieve smooth work flow and effective achievement of the business plans.
  • Set the highest possible standards for quality, efficiency, productivity, cooperation, and behavior.
  • Trouble-shooting and diagnosing unknown crop health and damage problems.
  • Monitor and control the computerized greenhouse environments.
  • Monitor irrigation schedule and CO2 settings.
  • Develop and implement fertilization/irrigation programs for different crops.
  • Manage nutrient and environmental systems to maintain specified level and conditions.
  • Lead greenhouses tours with consultant and growing team personnel.
  • Send water, disease samples, tissue to a laboratory as needed.
  • Ensure proper crop labor planning and direction.
  • Monitor all the records of the crop work.
  • Monitor quality of crop work, sanitation, worker hygiene and practices. Follow up with the Labor supervisors to ensure deficiencies are corrected.
  • Jointly with Operation Manager/Labor Manager identify and optimize labor priorities for inter-planting periods.
  • For this position you will need to complete modules: Introduction Horticulture, Water- Introduction , Irrigation and Fertilization, and How to set up an irrigation strategy with the Priva Connect which includes successfully passing them within the first 6 months. Then will continue to complete Priva Modules as assigned every 6 months after

Requirements

Competencies:

Education and/or Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in a greenhouse environment
  • 5 years’ experience in cultivation management
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a management role
  • Travel may be required per company needs and must provide a clean DMV record
  • Cannabis experience preferred.

Required

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week
  • Must be able to write and communicate effectively with the entire team.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present
  • Ability to exert up to 15-50 pounds occasionally in order to lift and move product
  • Ability to balance, reach grasp while climbing on a step stool and/ or ladder
  • Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time as job duties require
  • Ability to use required tools to perform job duties

We are building a structured research and development program that connects cultivation practices to measurable business outcomes. This role will help establish how research informs what we grow and how we grow it.

About The Role

The Head Grower will be responsible for all growing practices over multiple phases.

Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
