Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate a variety of youth activities including sports, arts, outdoor games, and educational workshops that cater to different age groups and interests.
- Maintain a safe environment by supervising children closely during all activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and behavior management strategies.
- Implement first aid procedures promptly when necessary, including CPR and AED operation, to address minor injuries or emergencies effectively.
- Manage classroom or activity space organization, ensuring materials are prepared and activities run smoothly.
- Foster positive relationships with children by encouraging participation, supporting social development, and promoting teamwork.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress or concerns (as appropriate), maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan engaging programs aligned with youth development principles and camp goals.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or youth programs is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 18 years old.
- Strong knowledge of child supervision techniques, behavior management strategies, and early childhood education best practices.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with first aid protocols are required; ongoing training provided if needed.
- Experience in outdoor work environments or sports coaching enhances your ability to lead active outdoor activities confidently.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom or group settings effectively using classroom management skills.
- Background in special education or childhood development is a plus for working with diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills combined with team leadership qualities to foster collaboration among staff members.
