Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Sales Producer to join our small property and casualty insurance agency. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, building trust, identifying coverage needs, and helping individuals and businesses protect what matters most. The Sales Producer will focus on generating new business, developing referral relationships, quoting and presenting insurance solutions, and supporting long-term client retention.
Key Responsibilities
· Prospect, identify, and develop new personal lines and/or commercial lines insurance opportunities.
· Build and maintain relationships with referral partners, clients, prospects, local businesses, and community contacts.
· Conduct needs-based conversations to understand each client’s risks, coverage gaps, and insurance goals.
· Prepare, present, and explain insurance quotes and coverage options in a clear, professional manner.
· Cross-sell and round out accounts by identifying additional coverage needs such as home, auto, umbrella, business, liability, or other property and casualty products.
· Follow up consistently with prospects, renewal opportunities, and referral sources to support sales goals.
· Maintain accurate client and prospect information in the agency management system.
· Work closely with service team members, carrier representatives, and underwriters to place new business efficiently and accurately.
· Stay informed about carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, insurance products, and industry changes.
· Represent the agency professionally in the community and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
Qualifications
· Active Property & Casualty insurance license preferred; willingness to obtain license may be considered for the right candidate.
· Previous insurance, sales, customer service, banking, mortgage, real estate, or relationship-based business development experience preferred.
· Strong communication, listening, presentation, and follow-up skills.
· Self-motivated, organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently in a small-agency environment.
· Ability to build trust with clients and explain coverage options in an understandable way.
· Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Office, agency management systems.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or relevant professional experience preferred.
