Summary

Maintenance performs repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance activities related to building and grounds, equipment, machinery, as directed. In addition, maintenance may fabricate new tooling as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

Make, maintain, and repair tooling.

Perform preventive maintenance of equipment and facility.

Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of machinery and equipment.

Perform maintenance of buildings and grounds including but not limited to electrical, plumbing and carpentry repairs.

Operate manual lathe, mill, saws, shears, wheel grinders, tool post grinder as needed.

Operate various hand and power tools.

Operate various measuring tools ie. calipers, mics, rules, multimeters, etc.

Maintain maintenance areas in an orderly and organized manner.

Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and regulations.

Comply with lock-out/tag-out program.

Perform other duties as directed or needed

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:

Associate degree in industrial maintenance or 4 years’ experience in an industrial maintenance environment.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to visitors and other employees in the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute unit of measure conversions and interpret bar and line graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form including mechanical drawings. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, negotiate stairways, push wheeled carts, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop and lift, carry, and/or move up to 60 pounds without assistance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to machinery, and moving mechanical parts. The employee must negotiate narrow isles. The employee may be exposed to fiberglass, industrial lubricants, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
