Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Bather to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality bathing and grooming services to pets, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to handle various breeds and sizes of dogs with ease.
Duties
- Bathe, dry, and groom pets according to breed standards and client preferences
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all animals during grooming sessions
- Maintain cleanliness of bathing areas and grooming tools
- Assist in handling pets during their visits, ensuring they are calm and comfortable
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs
- Observe and report any health or behavioral issues to the veterinary staff if applicable
- Perform light lifting as needed when handling larger animals or equipment
Skills
- Experience in dog training or handling is highly desirable
- Background in veterinary care, including veterinary technician or assistant experience
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including restraint methods for various species
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices and tools
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners
- Experience in pet sitting or kennel operations is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for larger breeds or equipment
- Knowledge of equine care is an added advantage
