Experienced Hair Stylist

Glam Studios Salon & Spa in Kittery, Maine is growing, and we are looking to add experienced, licensed hairstylists to our team.

We are looking for talented professionals who are confident behind the chair, take pride in creating an elevated client experience, and are excited to grow within a beautiful, established salon environment.

We are currently offering two opportunities for the right stylist:

W-2 Commission Stylist
A traditional salon employment option for stylists who want the support and structure of working as part of the Glam Studios team. Compensation is commission-based, with salon support, client referrals, online booking, retail commission, and opportunities to continue growing your clientele.

Independent Stylist Opportunity
For experienced stylists who operate their own independent business and prefer greater control over their schedule and professional services. This option is intended for appropriately licensed independent professionals and includes use of the Glam Studios salon environment, booking resources, client referral opportunities, and a tiered service revenue-sharing structure.

The appropriate arrangement will be discussed during the interview process based on the stylist's experience, goals, licensing, business structure, and preferred way of working.

We're Looking For

• Active Maine cosmetology license, or ability to obtain one prior to starting
• 2 years of professional salon experience preferred
• Strong cutting, coloring, highlighting, blonding, and styling skills
• Confidence performing client consultations and making professional recommendations
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, professional, and motivated
• Passion for continuing education and current hair trends
• Someone interested in building long-term client relationships and becoming part of the Glam Studios environment

An established clientele is welcome but is not required. We are especially interested in experienced stylists who are motivated to grow their book and would benefit from the client traffic and visibility of an established salon.

Schedule

Approximately 20–40 hours per week, depending on the position selected, stylist availability, and client bookings. Part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

Compensation

Compensation varies depending on whether the stylist joins Glam Studios as a W-2 commission employee or an independent stylist.
