What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title I Teacher Aide position at Gladeville Elementary School?
Primary Function:
To provide supplemental targeted content expertise in scientifically based reading research and sound Pre-K-5 grade reading and math instruction to Title I students. The Aide will assist in the implementation of the district basal reading and reading intervention programs and math program, supporting the effective use of formative assessments, data analysis, and instructional planning. Additionally, the aide will assist students individually and/or in small groups as needed.
Qualifications:
- Meet highly qualified Paraprofessional requirements.
- Basic understanding of child development
- Know the best practice teaching strategies for students to learn reading and/or math.
- Be able to analyze data to make decisions.
Reports To: Principal, Title I Supervisor
Performance Responsibilities:
- Discuss assigned duties with Title I Reading Special/Coach, Title I teachers and principals in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
- Present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers.
- Tutor and assist children individually or in small groups in order to help them master assignments and to reinforce learning concepts presented by teachers.
- Support and model administration policies and rules governing students.
- Observe students’ performance, and record relevant data to assess progress.
- Plan, prepare, and develop various teaching aids.
- Maintain and up to date log of lesson plans and daily activities.
- Attend PAC meetings.
- Serves as role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens.
- Conducts other duties as delegated by the principal.
Terms of Employment:
The length of the contract will be determined by the Carroll County School Board. The salary will be from the Teacher Aide Salary Scale based on 182-day contract.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of licensed personnel.
