Job Title: Loan Specialist II
Position Summary:
The Loan Specialist II plays a vital role in ensuring efficient loan operations. This position focuses on file reviews, client service, process efficiency, underwriting, and risk assessment.
Department: Operations
Reports To: COO
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough file reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy of documentation (title, appraisal, insurance, etc.)
- Evaluate appraisals, environmental reports, and borrower financials for creditworthiness.
- Underwrite various loan products by reviewing financial statements and credit reports, providing recommendations for approval.
- Maintain new account systems and perform manual loan boarding as needed.
- Resolve discrepancies through detailed account research.
- Accurately process payments from reserve accounts.
- Manage servicing for participation loans, including payment processing and reconciliation.
- Research and address unapplied or non-posted items to ensure transaction accuracy.
**Additional Responsibilities:**
- Stay updated on underwriting guidelines and regulatory changes.
- Train and support junior staff on underwriting practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the COO or operations team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficient in PC applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong skills in data entry, comparison, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
