Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Veterinarian role based in Glade Spring, VA. The Veterinarian will perform examinations, diagnose illnesses and injuries, develop treatment plans, and provide routine preventive care such as vaccinations and wellness checks. Daily responsibilities include performing surgical procedures as appropriate, prescribing medications, interpreting lab results and diagnostic imaging, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role also involves communicating clearly with pet owners about diagnoses, treatment options, and home care, while collaborating with veterinary technicians, assistants, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care and a smooth clinic workflow. The Veterinarian will help uphold clinic standards, support a safe and clean clinical environment, and participate in ongoing professional development. Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution; current or eligible Virginia veterinary license.
- Demonstrated proficiency in small animal general practice, including physical exams, diagnostics, and routine surgical procedures.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to create appropriate treatment and follow-up plans.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients and collaborating with clinic staff.
- Commitment to compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based veterinary care, with attention to patient safety and infection control.
- Ability to work full time on-site, manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment, and maintain detailed medical records, including written records.
- Experience in a small animal practice or mixed animal practice is beneficial; familiarity with rural community practice is a plus.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and stay current with advances in veterinary medicine and best practices.
