JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a full-time, Anchorage-based Installation Technician to join our growing team.

Under limited supervision, the Installation Technician will perform field tasks to complete sign projects, including but not limited to installation of illuminated channel letters, installation of freestanding signs, diagnosing and servicing existing signage, repairing as needed, and performing site surveys for access, color matching, and dimensions. Under direction from the Production Manager, Installation Technicians transport, install, and complete the quality custom-designed signage projects that our customers have come to expect from us. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will work under direct supervision of an experienced Installer, but once trained may work independently or with a helper.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with training and support. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Review approved drawings and art proofs for each installation, removal, or repair project
  • Gather and pack installation materials and supplies as required; pad-wrap sign components if necessary; load on crane truck for transport and delivery
  • Remove and dispose of existing signs as instructed, limiting damage to existing structures
  • Investigate, diagnose, and repair existing signs; replace defective components as needed
  • Perform detailed technical survey of buildings for projects
  • Check-in with customers on site, and obtain signatures and photos after completion
  • Maintain a positive, clean, organized, and safe work site
  • Maintain truck equipment, including material stock, tool bin organization, and proper safety equipment
  • Travel statewide for installation projects
  • Fulfill all other duties assigned as assigned by leadership

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Alaska Driver’s License required
  • Ability to get a DOT Commercial Vehicle Certification (medical card) required
  • Ability to work comfortably in a mobile work platform up to 135ft using hand tools
  • Ability to operate a mobile boom-mounted crane with proper rigging and safety
  • 2 years general construction or handyman experience
  • Prior sign industry experience highly desirable, but not required
  • Ability to solve problems and issues.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with customers in-person and by telephone.
  • Strong focus on safety and quality

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive Wage, $20 /hr, D.O.E.
