Role Description The Extended Duties Dental Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Collins, CO. This position supports the dental team by preparing treatment rooms, arranging instruments, and assisting the dentist during procedures such as restorative treatments, cleanings, and examinations. Daily responsibilities include providing chairside support, explaining post-treatment care to patients, and documenting treatments in patient records. The role also involves managing sterilization processes, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring supplies and equipment are stocked and organized. The Extended Duties Dental Assistant contributes to a smooth patient flow, supports front-office staff as needed, and helps maintain a calm, respectful environment for patients and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Dental Assisting and Dentistry, including chairside support and extended duties within scope of certification.
- Knowledge of Dental Care and Oral Care practices, with a focus on patient comfort, education, and preventive treatments.
- Experience with Sterilization and infection control protocols, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Formal training or equivalent on the job training as a Dental Assistant; Expanded/Extended Duties preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented clinical setting.
- Attention to detail in charting, instrument handling, and following clinical instructions accurately.
