Job Summary
The Production Manager oversees daily plant operations, providing direct leadership to operators and staff to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, resolving operational issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth plant performance. The Production Manager is a safety leader, ensuring compliance with all safety standards while maintaining product quality within established specifications. They are also responsible for communicating production performance to senior leadership.
Employment in this role is contingent upon successfully passing pre-employment requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead plant operators and production staff
- Reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency
- Troubleshoot and resolve process and production issues
- Promote and enforce workplace safety standards
- Ensure all products meet quality specifications
- Report production metrics and performance to the Plant Manager
- Manage hiring, training, performance reviews, and employee development
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Manufacturing/production experience required; ethanol industry experience preferred
- 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience (ethanol plant experience highly desired)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage teams, including hiring and performance management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
