Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Certification or approved course work in childhood development, required.
- At least 2 years’ work experience in children’s programming/education, required.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of state licensing and Young Star accreditation requirements, preferred.
- Attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as required.
- Oversee planning of lesson plans that utilize, but are not limited to, the following areas: values, storytelling, games, drama, arts and crafts, singing, multi-cultural activities, sports/fitness and homework help.
- Ensure appropriate implementation through quality checks.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriate to staff roles, to ensure smooth day-to-day program operations.
- Monitor performance providing development and leadership.
- Report on staff successes and/or issues to Youth Development Director.
- Assure state licensing and accreditation standards and requirements are adhered to within all licensed childcare programs, and personally cover responsibilities as needed.
- Assist with hiring, training, evaluating and supervising staff as assigned and in accordance with Association human resource procedures and policies.
