This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This position serves to use comprehensive knowledge to evaluate work orders, drawings, and blueprints to ensure that all required materials, equipment, and tools are identified and available before scheduling work.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. - Physical Effort: Normally, performs work in an office setting. Frequently we must work on hard surfaces and in areas that require the incumbent to stoop, stand, bend and work in tiring positions. Frequently lifts and carries materials and parts weighing up to 40 lbs. May handle heavier items weighing up to 60 lbs. Forklifts and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.
- Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in areas that are well lighted, heated and ventilated. Work is occasionally performed where there is dirt, dust and grease. Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises.
