We are seeking an experienced Fabrication / Machinist Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations by fabricating, repairing, and modifying equipment parts and tooling. This role requires hands-on experience with welding, grinding, machining, and operating manual shop equipment such as lathes and mills.
When fabrication work is not required, this individual will assist with preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and general upkeep of manufacturing lines and production equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom parts, tooling, brackets, guards, and components for manufacturing equipment
- Operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and fabrication equipment
- Perform MIG/TIG/stick welding and metal fabrication work
- Grind, cut, shape, and finish metal components to specification
- Repair worn or damaged machine parts and production tooling
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and measurements
- Perform preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and production lines
- Assist with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment issues
- Support maintenance team with machinery repairs, installations, and equipment modifications
- Maintain fabrication shop equipment and tools in safe working condition
- Follow company safety procedures and manufacturing standards
- Help minimize downtime by responding to equipment maintenance needs promptly
Qualifications
- 3 years of fabrication, machining, and/or industrial maintenance experience
- Experience operating lathes, mills, grinders, and welding equipment
- Strong welding and metal fabrication skills
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial machinery preferred
- Ability to manufacture parts from drawings or verbal instructions
- Experience repairing or fabricating parts for production equipment preferred
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments and hand tools
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a manufacturing environment
- Comfortable working with fabrication equipment, sparks, heat, noise, and industrial machinery
