Title: Structural Ironworker – AI Data Center Construction ($30.00–$55.00/hr $160.00/day Per Diem)

About the Project

Join a major, fast-moving AI supercomputing data-center build across the Memphis, TN and Southaven, MS area. You will erect the structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and equipment supports behind a massive campus featuring compute halls, cooling plants, substations, and site infrastructure. This industrial project offers long-term work and the opportunity to travel to future projects.

Pay, Schedule & Benefits

• Hourly Pay Rate: $30.00–$55.00/hr, set by years of experience in structural steel:
• Travel Per Diem: $160.00/day (paid weekly) for workers living 75 miles from the site.
• Schedule & Overtime: 6 days a week, 12-hour shifts (Monday–Saturday or Sunday–Friday), with an optional 7th day and substantial overtime. Both day and night shifts are running—candidates must be open to either.
• Holiday Pay: Critical-path crews working holidays earn double time (2x) for the full holiday weekend.
• Pay Frequency: Paid weekly.
• Benefits & Growth: Health plan available (cafeteria plan). Possible conversion to a permanent role after 90 days (not guaranteed).

What You'll Do

• Erect columns, beams, bracing, joists, and metal deck for compute halls, mechanical plants, substations, and cooling yards.
• Install stairs, ladders, platforms, catwalks, grating, handrail, embeds, and equipment frames.
• Build pipe racks, mezzanines, and support steel for chilled-water piping, cable tray, busway, and liquid-cooling distribution.
• Rig, hoist, and set members using cranes, come-alongs, and chain falls; act as a rigger or signal person when qualified.
• Bolt, torque, weld, and plumb connections according to drawings and AISC/AWS standards; close connection punch lists.
• Lay out from control, check elevations and plumb, flag drawing conflicts, and coordinate with other trades so embeds and support steel land accurately.

Requirements

• Experience: 2 years of ironworking on commercial, industrial, or heavy-civil structural steel (or equivalent military structural/rigging experience).
• Technical Skills: Ability to read structural and erection drawings and work to AISC connection details.
• Equipment & Tools: Hands-on experience with structural bolt-up and cutting; safe operation of aerial lifts, ladders, and material-handling equipment.
• Safety: Strong safety mindset with strict adherence to fall protection, crane, rigging, hot-work, and LOTO rules.
• Work Conditions: Able to work outdoors at heights, in varying weather, and in full PPE for 12-hour shifts (including extended hours, nights, and weekends).
• General Requirements: Must pass a background check and be able to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Note: Candidates may be represented by only 1 staffing agency for this project.

Pluses (Preferred Qualifications)

• Journey-level experience (union or non-union) or a completed ironworker apprenticeship.
• AWS D1.1 structural welding certification; NCCCO rigger or signal person certification.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification; Fall Protection Competent Person.
• Prior experience on hyperscale data centers, power plants, or mission-critical steel, specifically involving pipe racks and equipment support steel.
