Traveling Journeyman Electrician (480 V) – Data Center Construction
Pay: $38–$50 per hour Overtime $1,250 Weekly Per Diem

Project: Large-Scale AI Data Center Construction Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 12-hour shifts | Optional Sundays
GL Staffing Services is seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians for a large-scale AI data center construction project in Memphis, Tennessee.
This position focuses on installing and terminating 415/480 V electrical distribution equipment. We are seeking electricians with industrial or data center construction experience, not residential-only experience.
Traveling electricians from Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and other states are encouraged to apply.
Compensation
- Journeyman 1 (up to 8 years): $38–$42/hr Journeyman 2 (8–10 years): $42–$46/hr Journeyman 3 (10 years): $46–$50/hr
- $1,250 weekly per diem for eligible traveling employees
- Overtime available
- Double pay on eligible holidays
Job Responsibilities
- Install and terminate 415/480 V electrical distribution equipment.
- Work with switchgear, busways, PDUs, UPS systems, and main switchboards.
- Pull electrical cable and install conduit, cable trays, and terminations.
- Install grounding and bonding systems. Troubleshoot 480 V systems (Journeyman 2 and above).
- Verify zero-energy conditions before beginning work.
- Follow NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience installing and terminating 480 V equipment independently.
- Recent industrial or data center construction experience.
- Experience limited to commercial or residential electrical work does not meet the project requirements.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
- Ability to meet project background screening requirements.
- Applicable electrical licensing or credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman electrical license.
- Data center commissioning experience.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
