What are the responsibilities and job description for the Filter Engineering Technician position at GL Staffing Services, Inc.?
The function of this position is to set-up, test, align and troubleshoot LC filters, cavity filters, tubular filters, crystal filters and any other filter topologies or electronic products the company may decide to pursue. This person will also be able to mentor and assist other technicians by helping them find, understand and solve problems. Work with engineers in implementing and troubleshooting new filter prototypes. Compiles and analyzes data and records with regard to test results, and changes made on prototypes.
Major Duties:
- Set-up test equipment and perform alignment and testing of filters with no assistance.
- Read schematics and drawings specific to the product being tested.
- Work from engineering red-line drawings and schematics.
- Recommend and implement changes on prototypes to improve performance and/or meet customer requirements.
- Work and provide guidance to assemblers as required.
- Troubleshoot product to the component level.
- Keep supervisor and cognizant engineer informed of any delays which may cause a late shipment to the customer.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned or as necessary.
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
Minimum Qualification:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of filters and their components and have the ability to tune them to a required specification. The Filter Engineering Technician should have good communication skills and be able to work well with others.
Education, Experience and Training:
A minimum of 3 years as a technician in an RF troubleshooting environment. This person should be experienced in the use of oscilloscopes, network analyzers and other equipment used in electronic testing.
