Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, across over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries.
- Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with logistics cargo handling standards.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption.
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous goods handling procedures.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure truck safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and load documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transit.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record demonstrating safe driving habits.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles and perform manual handling tasks for cargo loading/unloading.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations related to hours of service, load securement, and safety protocols.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations governing commercial trucking operations.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence.
