Responsible for the development of the quality assurance group into an organization to manage, plan, organize, integrate, measure and report a program of total quality control. Support and execution of the annual Divisional Quality targets established for the plant (concerns and PPM). Manage plant Quality System to include coordination and execution of the Concern Management Process, including lead responsibility for complex problem solving where necessary. Train and develop Quality Engineers to ensure a culture of Continuous Improvement (C.I.) within the plant Quality Department. Develop new site-specific Level III & approve Level IV procedures to continuously improve plant Quality Operating System (QOS). Responsible for implementation of necessary resource & identifying training needs within the plant quality assurance (QA) area to support plant QOS, Manufacturing Engineering and Customers. Provide technical assistance and support to the Customer Service Managers (CSM). Provide technical assistance and support to Advanced Quality & Program Launch Managers for Stage 'C' new programs. Ensure establishment of and compliance to Procedure Maintenance and plant QOS. Maintain Customer satisfaction with GKN Quality through regular Auditing of plant activities & execution of identified Continuous Improvement projects. Lead plant Management Review process to identify improvements and monitor progress of C.I. activities. Confer with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to assist with resolution of any internal or external quality concerns, including scrap, suspect material, non-conforming material requiring deviation, etc. Coordinate and lead periodic training sessions to keep personnel updated on current and new procedures, methods, tools, use of equipment and other quality assurance techniques. Ensure the maintenance, updating & compliance to specific requirements necessary to support the GKN business model (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 14000, Customer-specific requirements, etc.)
- Master Degree in Integrated Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or educational equivalent. Two years of experience in the position offered, or in a similar position, such as Manager – Advanced Quality Engineering. Experience must include identifying systemic issues across program management, application engineering, manufacturing engineering, purchase and supply chain functions and lead cross-functional teams to improve overall product launch quality and associated manufacturing processes.
