Fund Accounting Manager

Title: Fund Accounting Manager

Location: Manhattan Beach, CA (Onsite – 5 days/week)

Compensation: Up to $160,000 base salary bonus carry

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all fund accounting operations for real estate investment funds, including NAV calculations, capital activity, and financial reporting
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities and investment vehicles
• Review and approve financial statements, investor reports, and capital account statements
• Lead and mentor a small team of fund accountants; provide guidance, training, and performance management
• Coordinate with third-party administrators, auditors, and tax providers to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
• Monitor fund performance, waterfalls, and promote/carry calculations
• Partner with acquisitions, asset management, and executive leadership on fund-level analysis and reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls; assist with audit and tax processes
• Improve processes, systems, and reporting efficiency (experience with Yardi, Investran, or similar preferred)

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
• 6–10 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within real estate private equity or investment management
• Strong understanding of partnership accounting, waterfalls, and complex capital structures
• Experience managing or mentoring staff
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with fund accounting systems (Yardi, Investran, etc.)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, in-office environment and interact with senior leadership
