What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Technician position at GJ Builders Hardware?
The Shop Technician will assist with the activities and operations of the shop and whare house.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Assists with the coordination and scheduling of the movement of products throughout the warehouse including storage and shipment of finished products.
· Implements the daily production plan, completing jobs based on customer need.
· Assists with daily flow of finished products by modifying storage space assignments.
· Communicate with sales staff to confirm the completion of a job so that the customer may be notified.
· Notifies his supervisor regarding the need for shop supplies and tools.
· Unloads trucks and stores inventory in proper area of the warehouse.
· Welds and fabricate doors and frames using a mig-welder.
· Operates forklift truck as needed.
· Documents all related activities and completes forms and reports.
· Make deliveries as needed.
· Performs housekeeping, maintenance other related duties as directed.
Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to follow directions in a fast paced, changing environment.
· Basic math skills.
· Must be able to use hand tools.
· Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures and safety regulations.
· Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
· Welding experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
