Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for leading the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor payments, expense reports, and financial records. This role oversees AP staff, maintains strong vendor relationships, drives process improvements, and ensures compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and vendor management.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop AP team members.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices while maintaining cash flow objectives.
- Oversee month-end and year-end AP close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations.
- Monitor and improve AP processes, internal controls, and workflow efficiencies.
- Resolve vendor inquiries and payment discrepancies.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Purchasing, and Operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Develop and track AP performance metrics and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of accounts payable experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, accounting principles, and internal controls.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or multi-location organizations.
Salary : $80,000 - $88,000
