The Job:
The Artisan Bread Baker will be a vital member of our experienced Bread Team in Rochester, working under the supervision and direction of the Director of Operations and Head Bread Baker. This individual should have experience with the art of bread baking in a commercial setting and be prepared to assimilate with the time-honored traditions and practices of the Bakery. The Bread Baker’s responsibilities will include the entire life cycle of artisan bread, including:
- Ingredient scaling and Dough mixing, including lifting heavy items and 50lb bags of flour
- Dough scaling
- Shaping and scoring
- Managing the proofing process
- Baking in a steam-injected deck oven
- Maintenance of a clean work space
- Available for up to five shifts per week between noon and midnight.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with bread baking
- Team-oriented, cooperative, collaborative work style
- Creative and curious approach to culinary innovation
- Culinary education is a plus, but not required
- Food Handlers Certificate or comparable (we will sponsor, if needed)

- Comfortable with the physical demands of a busy kitchen environment
