What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welcome Hut/Security Agent position at Give Kids The World Village?
SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE
To ensure the safety and security of GKTW Village while providing a professional and courteous welcome to all guests, visitors, volunteers, staff and other GKTW constituents who enter through the Village.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Welcome Hut
• Responsible for utilizing the proper GKTW screening methods to ensure access is only granted to necessary personnel.
• Deliver proper communication to incoming persons at the Welcome Hut.
• Confirm that every guest, staff member, volunteer and visitor coming through the Welcome Hut have a purpose for being at the Village.
• Notify respective department staff members of visitor arrivals.
• Notify respective departments of delivery vehicles.
PBX/Operator
• Support PBX/Operator for general phone reception.
• Route calls appropriately throughout the village.
• Demonstrate professional and courteous guest service to all callers.
Department Support
• Complete a variety of administrative tasks as assigned by Guest Services management.
All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OUTSIDE NORMAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, crouch, balance, use hands and arms to lift/move objects.
- Able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to work outside for extended periods in varied outdoor conditions.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Proven ability to understand and execute resort security procedures.
- Must be comfortable with de-escalation and conflict management skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to speak and write English clearly & articulately with a positive, professional & pleasant manner
- Ability to work with all types of individuals, including guests, co-workers, volunteers, vendors and leaders.
- Able to use creative problem-solving skills and demonstrate decisiveness.
- Proficient in PC skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel.)
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery-operated golf cart.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must meet acceptable attendance and punctuality requirements, which are essential functions for the position.
- High School Diploma.
- At least 1 years of previous security/hospitality experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous hotel/resort experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
