Give Kids The World Village is an 89-acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides critically ill children and their families with a magical week-long wish vacation at no cost. Amidst snoring trees, enchanting castles and the world’s largest game of Candy Land, Give Kids The World creates life-changing moments that lift spirits, renew hope and inspire belief in the impossible.
We believe that each member of our team has the ability to help create the perfect storybook experience for the special families we host at our magical Village. This internship will give you an opportunity to have meaningful learning experiences while supporting department goals and gaining real-world exposure to the hospitality/non-profit industry.
Commitment
Interns will be expected on property 3-4 days per week totaling roughly 16-28 hours per week. Your schedule will be dependent on department needs and will be discussed with you at the time of onboarding. Internship Program will run from May 18, 2026 to August 14, 2026.

Responsibilities
Primarily assists Entertainment Coordinators in the daily operation of Village Entertainment venues, shows and character program. These duties include:
- Develop, implement and evaluate one event that enhances the Village experience for Wish Families, with the assistance of the Entertainment Assistant Managers and Entertainment Manager
- Locate, document, and track wish family & alumni family stars
- Support in the setup and breakdown of Entertainment events
- Support Entertainment events while in progress
- Assist with Entertainment Department projects
- Ensure communication channels between Entertainment and all Village departments are open and clear
- Assist with the care, maintenance and daily operation of Village costumed characters
- Maintain all Entertainment venues, storage areas and offices organized as show ready
- Ensure proper inventory supply levels for Entertainment venues and shows are maintained
- Ability to train all volunteers for Entertainment shows, venues, attractions, etc when needed
- Remove litter and debris from around venues and Avenue
- Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, crouch, balance, and use hands and arms to lift/move objects
- Able to consistently lift 50 lbs, unaided
- Able to climb a ladder
- Ability to work outside for extended periods in varied weather conditions
- Ability to drive motor vehicles, including golf carts
Qualifications and Specific Skills:
- Professional verbal and written communication skills ensuring courtesy, efficiency, and detailed follow through.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Enthusiastic attitude.
- Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Must have strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, and taking at least one class at the time of application in recreation, hospitality, event management or related fields.
