Job Summary:
The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, utensils, dishes, and equipment in the central kitchen. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by supporting the production team with a clean and hygienic workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
· Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, baking pans, and kitchen equipment according to safety and hygiene standards.
· Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals.
· Manually clean larger items, such as pots, pans, and baking trays, that cannot be machine-washed.
· Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, floors, sinks, and surrounding workspaces.
· Empty trash bins and handle waste disposal according to company and health regulations.
· Assist with the cleaning of production areas, storage rooms, and refrigerators as required.
· Ensure proper drying, organization, and storage of clean kitchen tools and equipment.
· Report any damaged or malfunctioning dishwashing equipment to the supervisor.
· Support kitchen staff by supplying clean utensils, containers, and trays during production hours.
· Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards (HACCP or equivalent).
· Participate in deep cleaning and end-of-day kitchen shutdown procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Previous experience as a dishwasher, steward, or cleaner in a commercial or central kitchen preferred.
· Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing procedures and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
· Reliable, punctual, and physically capable of performing repetitive tasks.
· Basic understanding of English or ability to follow verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods.
· Capable of lifting up to 20–25 kg (45–55 lbs).
· Comfortable working in warm, humid, and busy kitchen environments.
Work Environment:
The Dishwasher works in a central kitchen facility supporting high-volume food production for multiple outlets. This position ensures the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen tools and equipment, contributing directly to the kitchen’s efficiency and food safety standards.
