Job Overview:
The Low Voltage Security Technician is responsible for the installation and maintenance of low voltage cabling and systems, programming and testing of CCTV, tele-entry, and access control systems.

Your Responsibilities:
The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that all positions will be assigned every duty.
  • Installation, programming, and service of IP security camera systems and video management software.
  • Installation, programming, and service of audio and video door entry systems.
  • Installation, programming, and service of access control systems.
  • Operation of cable testing and diagnostics equipment to ensure proper system performance.
  • Install, test, certify and troubleshoot Local Area Network (LAN) Cabling Systems.
  • Provide testing, analysis, and repair of Video, Voice and Data Systems (i.e., Electronic Devices such as Gateways, Routers, Hubs, NIC Cards, and Telephone Switches, etc.).
  • Meet all installation service deadlines.
  • Responsible for accurate tracking on time sheets, service/installation tickets and inventory items.
  • Full compliance with company’s and customer’s safety program.
  • Must maintain regular and punctual attendance to required shifts, meetings, and trainings and related employment engagements to support position responsibilities and duties. Any alterations to required schedule must be reviewed and approved, in advance by your supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules.
  • Actively participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned


Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minnesota State Power Limited Technician License (Required)
  • 2-5 years of low voltage systems experience
  • 2-5 years of proven superior customer service skills
  • Construction & Maintenance knowledge and experience


Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb 10-foot ladders, as needed
  • Sitting, standing, walking at desk or work site
  • Use of Smartphone, keyboard, computer, and applicable software and equipment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a DMV check

Compensation: $25 - $40 an hour
