Hiring for: Full Time Director of Security Operations, Myrtle Beach, SC

Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 per year

Position Summary

The Director of Security Operations is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the organization's security operations. This position ensures the safety and security of personnel, clients, facilities, and assets through effective leadership, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The Director will manage security personnel, develop policies and procedures, oversee scheduling and staffing, investigate incidents, and maintain strong client relationships while promoting a culture of professionalism and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage daily security operations across multiple locations.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate security supervisors and officers.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and licensing requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements to enhance security measures.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and security breaches, ensuring timely reporting and corrective action.
  • Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and deployment of security personnel.
  • Perform regular site inspections and quality assurance audits.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and local law enforcement agencies.
  • Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, budgets, and executive summaries.
  • Oversee employee performance management, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning and crisis management activities.
  • Ensure all security personnel maintain required certifications, licenses, and training.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Business Administration, Security Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience preferred in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple sites and supervising teams.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, emergency response procedures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional security certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with contract security services.
  • Budget management and operational planning experience.
  • Experience developing training programs and standard operating procedures.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with firearms, including safe handling and operation, and possess a general understanding of firearm safety, applicable laws, and responsible use.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and conduct site inspections for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift to forty (40) pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work and respond to emergencies during evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
