Compensation
$15.00–$18.00 per hour, based on qualifications, experience, education, and demonstrated ability.

Position Summary
The Youth Development Professional creates safe, engaging, and empowering experiences for girls ages 5–18 through intentional mentoring and the delivery of high-quality programming.
This position facilitates educational and recreational activities while supporting girls' academic success, social-emotional growth, leadership development, healthy lifestyles, and overall well-being.

Essential Functions

Youth Development
Build positive mentoring relationships with girls.
  • Foster an emotionally and physically safe environment.
  • Encourage leadership, confidence, resilience, and healthy decision-making.
  • Model professionalism, empathy, and respect.
Program Facilitation
Deliver engaging Girls Inc. curriculum.
  • Facilitate STEM, literacy, healthy lifestyles, athletics, leadership, and social-emotional learning activities.
  • Prepare materials and classrooms before programming.
  • Adapt activities to meet girls' individual needs.
Safety & Supervision
Maintain active supervision of participants.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational safety procedures.
  • Complete attendance, incident reports, and required documentation.
  • Support meals, field trips, special events, and recreation.


Team Collaboration
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
  • Work collaboratively with coworkers.
  • Accept coaching and feedback.
  • Represent Girls Inc. professionally in the community.
Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with youth or transferable experience in education, recreation, mentoring, childcare, or human services.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to meet the organization's vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Ability to safely operate a passenger van.
  • Successful completion of required background screening.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, Recreation, or a related field.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience facilitating youth programming.
Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 30 pounds, participating in active indoor and outdoor programming, operating passenger vans, transporting participants, loading and unloading equipment, and supporting girls during community activities.
