Status: Part-time (20-30 hours per week)
Purpose of Job: Responsible for leading fund development and procuring dollars for organizational
sustainability and growth.
Hourly Rate: $25-28
Position Summary: The Part-Time Fund Development Manager is responsible for identifying and
securing funding through grants, individual giving, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. This
position manages donor relations, oversees fundraising campaigns, maintains donor databases,
coordinates fundraising events, and supports community engagement. The role works closely with the
President & CEO and Board of Directors to advance Girls Inc. of Jacksonville’s mission.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Management:
● Implements and manages a comprehensive fund development program that builds sustainable
funding from corporate, foundation, and individual donors, with particular focus on donors at
leadership levels ($1,000 to $25,000 ), together with the Executive Director, the Director of
Programs, and the Board of Directors.
● The Fund Development Manager will develop, annually, strategic and tactical plans to support the
overarching goals of the fund development program. As an individual contributor, this position is
responsible for identifying, engaging, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospective donors.
Contributions Management:
● Manages a pool of prospects and donors. Develops strategies, makes 5-7 face-to-face visits per
month, and writes contact reports for each visit.
● Spearheads the “Champions for Girls,” giving society, working with the Executive Director, and
the Board to identify potential Champions. Develops a “Champions for Girls” marketing campaign
to raise awareness and attract new donors.
● Develops, implements, and manages fundraising efforts through direct mail appeals, annual
giving, major and corporate gifts, and social media to support Girls Inc. of Jacksonville programs
and services.
● Responsible for managing the timely processing and acknowledgment of all gifts, pledges, pledge
payments, matching gifts, memorial gifts, tribute gifts, and other contributions.
● Creates a comprehensive stewardship program, ensuring that:
● All donors giving less than $1,000 receive at least one stewardship piece in addition to thank-you
notes
● All leadership donors receive additional stewardship tied to their giving interests, including
face-to-face interaction
● All major gift donors receive annual fund stewardship in addition to any significant gift steps
● Creates monthly newsletter and manages Girls Inc. of Jacksonville website. Experience in using
a variety of social media platforms is desirable.
Grants Management
● Researches and evaluates "requests for proposals" and opportunities for grant funding.
● Works with the Executive Director and Director of Programs to develop a grant portfolio.
● Works with the Executive Director to ensure the timely and accurate completion of all grant
proposals and renewal requests.
● Tracks grant funding, including upcoming deadlines, submitted applications, and funded vs
unfunded applications. Completes and submits all required reports and documentation for
funders.
Events Management
● Formulates plans for fundraising events, including the concept, logistics, and securing sponsors.
● Manages all logistics of events
Community Outreach
● Community involvement in clubs and organizations to raise awareness and build relationships.
● Generates opportunities for speaking engagements and serves as an ambassador of Girls Inc.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree and previous nonprofit experience preferred
● An articulated belief in the mission of Girls Inc.
● 1 or more years proven track record in development with increasing levels of responsibility
● Superior communications skills emphasizing the ability to listen and hear others, and the ability to
write for a variety of audiences
● High energy, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize
● Strong work ethic and unquestioned reputation for honesty and integrity
● Ability to work flexibly in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial atmosphere
● Possess a valid Florida State Driver's License
● Pass a background check
