Girl Scouts of the Desert Southwest is seeking a dynamic and outgoing Community Engagement Specialist to grow membership and bring the Girl Scout experience to families across Odessa and the surrounding region.
This position is a 36-hour per week role with a core schedule of Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM, though actual hours may vary based on program needs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead inspiring recruitment efforts welcoming new girls, families, and volunteers.
- Host energetic presentations, community events, and hands-on Girl Scout activities.
- Build strong partnerships with schools and local organizations.
- Convert interest into membership using proven engagement and sales techniques.
- Support families through registration and onboarding.
- Collaborate with staff and volunteers to grow membership and form new troops.
- Represent the Girl Scout mission with positivity and professionalism.
What You Bring
- Passion for working with youth and strengthening communities.
- Experience in recruitment, sales, outreach, or customer engagement (preferred).
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Tech-savvy with Outlook, Word, Excel, CRM, and online systems.
- Ability to travel regularly throughout the region.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
- Ability to become a registered Girl Scout member (paid by council).
