Provides direct youth programming and leadership development through the implementation of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) in schools, community organizations, and other community settings. Works as part of the Membership Team under the Program Manager to achieve the Girl Scout of New Mexico Trails Council’s membership goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Using the provided curriculum, under the guidance of the Program Manager, create an inclusive. fun-filled space where girls become leaders, following and teaching the principles found in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

2. Facilitate up to five (5) Girl Scout troops with 15-20 K-5th-grade girls at school locations,

before, during, or after class hours.

3. Prep weekly activities and supplies for each troop meeting.

4. Lead weekly meetings for each of your assigned troops.

5. Maintain consistent, positive, organized, and effective communication with the Girl Scouts and their caregivers in your troops.

6. Serve as the primary contact for the meeting location (i.e., School/Community Center) and regularly communicate important information between the meeting location and the Program Manager.

7. Coordinate troop participation in the Girl Scout Fall Product and Cookie programs.

8. Coordinate and assist with one (1) monthly event for the program participants and families.

9. Track and update troop information and pull reports from Girl Scout platforms.

10. Promote, assist with, and attend staff trainings, meetings, and council-wide programs as required.

11. Ensure Girl Scouting is open and accessible to all girls and adults by fostering environments of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access through words, actions, and attitude.

12. Ability to facilitate youth programming.

13. Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

14. Ability to execute workload with a variety of audiences while maintaining a positive, inclusive attitude.

Required Qualifications and Abilities:

1. Willingness to work in a flexible work environment from off-site, in the main office, or other locations as the job requires.

2. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.

3. Travel throughout the set service area up to 100% of the time. Including travel to and from

the council’s office in Albuquerque weekly.

4. Capability of providing own transportation to and from up to five (5) job sites and maintain a valid operator driver’s license and automobile insurance.

5. Must have the ability to send and receive text messages, email, and access online Girl Scout platforms for tracking and communication.

6. Must be comfortable with using online communication platforms to communicate with troops and Girl Scout caregivers

7. Must be well organized and thorough in all record-keeping.

8. Must be able to maintain in good standing membership in Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails and Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA).

9. Must be at a minimum of 18 years old and able to pass a current background check.

10. Remain informed about and comply with the most current policies, procedures, and guidelines of Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails and GSUSA, including Volunteer Essentials and Safety Activity

Checkpoints.

11. Ability to work as part of a team, multitask, meet deadlines, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
