Overview
Girl Scouts of Maine (GSME) seeks highly motivated, responsible, reliable, individuals who have energy, enthusiasm and experience working with children to facilitate programs for girls who meet weekly in school settings. Program Leads prepare and facilitate engaging, hands-on activities for girls to build their self-esteem and leadership skills. Training and program curriculum will be provided by GSME.
Duties
- Attend all program trainings.
- Help recruit and register girls to the program.
- Adhere to curriculum provided by GSME and facilitate the program at assigned program site.
- Maintain accurate program records of achievements, updated participant attendance rosters and all other required records.
- Communicate clearly, regularly and in a timely manner with Community Program Manager regarding plans, activities and tasks.
- Be responsible for the health and safety of program participants.
- Coordinate and communicate with program site staff and adhere to rules of site location.
- Conduct a pre and post program evaluation with participants.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- 1 -2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experience working with children
- Classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse student behaviors
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, parents, and community partners
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, have reliable personal transportation for business use, and be insurable under GSME’s policy.
- Ability and willingness to perform tasks that involve the ability to exert physical effort, which may include some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 25 pounds).
